No fewer than four persons on Monday night, sustained various degrees of injury when a bomb exploded at People’s Hotel in Bayan Gari area of the Bauchi metropolis.
The event that occurred at about 9pm threw the residents of the state capital into panic as traders and Okada riders abandoned their businesses and took cover.
Confirming the incident, the state commissioner of police Muhammad Ladan explained that his men were deployed immediately to the scene after he received the information, adding that three men and a woman were affected by the blast.
The police boss who explained that the victims were rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi for treatment, said no death was recorded.
He claimed that the suspected bomber who was most injured was taken to the hospital and is currently being interrogated by the police.
Ladan condemned the despicable act and urged the general public in the state to complement the effort of the security agencies by providing them with useful information that will help to avert the recurrence of such ugly incidences.
