NSE Market Indices Drop By 0.54%

The market indices of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) depreciated by 0.54 per cent on Wednesday as some blue chips recorded price losses.

The News Agency of Nigerian (NAN) reports that the All-Share Index, which opened at 22,656.76, depreciated by 123.04 points to close at 22,533.72.

Also, the market capitalisation lost N39 billion or 0.54 per cent to close at N7.186 trillion against N7.225 trillion recorded on Tuesday.

GlaxoSmithKline and Flour Mills led the losers’ chart, each dropping N1 to close at N19 and N61 per share, respectively.

NCR followed with 76k to close at N14.52 per share, Cadbury dipped by 72k to close at N14.07 per share, while FBN depreciated by N57k to close at N10.93 per share.

On the other hand, NewGold led the gainers’ chart with N17.69 to close at N2, 517.69 per unit.

OkomuOil followed with a gain of N1.73 to close at N36.39 per share, while MRS grew by N1.50 to close at N36.50 per share.

PZCussons appreciated by N1.10 to close at N23.20 per share, while Nigerian Breweries rose by N1 to close at N112 per share.

A total of 483.89 million shares worth N3.82 billion were traded in 4,657 deals on Wednesday.

This was against the 402.50 million shares valued at N4.21 billion traded in 5,274 deals on Tuesday. (
