Presidency Can’t Determine Edo Guber Election, ACN Leaders Declare

Irked by the assurance by President Goodluck Jonathan that the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, would defeat the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN in Edo State in the forthcoming July 14, gubernatorial election, the leaders of ACN in Edo State have described as laughable, the comments credited to the president.

ACN said only registered voters in the state would determine which party will win the election.

A lawmaker representing Oredo Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rasaq Bello-Osagie said it would be a “risk for anybody to manipulate or tamper with the process and outcome of the election.”

Hon. Rasaq who spoke with newsmen in Uhunwonde Local Government Area of Edo State at a campaign rally in Ehor, said the ACN was not worried about the outcome of the election, saying that Governor Adams Oshiomhole has received tremendous support from all cadres of persons.

According to the lawmaker, because the people of the state have seen development across various sectors of the economy, they have come to appreciate that, “Oshiomhole is a generational gift to Edo people and Nigeria. He is a first class material. I am seeing beyond this immediate Edo State.”

On his part, the council chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government, NapoleonAgbama said, “One person from Abuja cannot decide the result of Edo guber election, noting that politics is a game of majority and the ACN is prepared for the polls in the locality.”
