Flying Eagles Arrive Tomorrow

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will arrive Lagos, Nigeria tomorrow afternoon from Johannesburg, South Africa, officials have disclosed.

The Nigeria U-20 team featured in the Cape Town International Challenge and was eliminated in the first round of a group that included Argentina, Ghana and hosts South Africa.

The team of 25 players and seven officials will fly Arik Air and land at the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos at about 2pm.

The team will depart Cape Town Monday afternoon for Johannesburg, where they will sleep overnight before boarding a flight to Lagos early the following day.

Team secretary Sirajo Hassan disclosed that efforts to get the team to return to the country much earlier failed because the organisers did not wish to incur extra costs to change the team’s departure time.

They also could not leave earlier because flights between Johannesburg and Lagos are often fully booked making it difficult for an unplanned 32-man fresh booking.
