PDP Crisis: Tukur Sacks Habu Fari As Chief Of Staff

The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, yesterday sacked his Chief of Staff, Abu Fari, following the face-off between him and the National Secretary of the party, Olagunsoye Oyilola.

In the sack letter dated June 12 and personally signed by him, the PDP chairman directed Fari to handover all the party belongings in his possession.

The letter reads in part: “In view of this and in the interest of our party, you are hereby relieved of your position and you should hand over all the party properties in your position.”

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Olisa Metuh had on Tuesday admitted that there was a crisis in the party following certain administrative lapses.

Metuh had said: “In the past few days, there were reports of divisions or problems between Fari, the Chief of Staff to the national chairman and the national secretary, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola over administrative matters.

The crisis of confidence between Tukur and Oyinlola was said to have been sequel to the complaints of Oyinlola who reportedly claimed that Fari had been usurping his office.
