Farouk/Otedola: Lawyers Advocate For Independent Inquiry

Some groups of lawyers yesterday, in Kaduna called on the federal government to allow independent lawyers, especially, Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) to investigate the fuel subsidy bribery scandal, that transpired between Honourable Farouk Lawal and the oil magnate, Mr Femi Otedola.?

The leader of the group, Yunus Usman Ustaz, (SAN) explained to LEADERSHIP WEEKEND, that government lawyers are hard working but the issue is a very serious one that should not be left to the ministry of justice alone; in order to have the culprits prosecuted accordingly.

“If you get independent lawyers to study the fuel subsidy report they would serve as umpires and recommend to the government those who should be prosecuted, to serve as deterrence to others and boost the confidence of Nigerians in the government”??

The group further applauded the effort of the new security adviser on his visits to the violent-prone areas in the north.
