Senator Dantong Gyang representing Plateau North and Hon Gyang Fulani, the majority leader in the Plateau State House of Assembly have been killed.
Sen. Gyang who was also chairman, Senate committee on health and the Plateau house leader were killed on Sunday during the mass burial session for those murdered yesterday in Plateau.
Over 30 persons were killed in seven villages of Berom local government area on Saturday.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the funeral had just been concluded when heavily armed men in military uniforms descended on the mourners, shooting at the senator and other officials.
Confirming the incident, Special Adviser on Security to Governor Jonah Jang, Mr. Istifanus Gyang in a statement said: “T-R-A-G-E-D-Y!!! Serving Senator n Mbr PLHA died following Fulani attack on mourners at a mass burial of 63 victims of a Fulani attack on over 9 villages previous day at Gashish district of B/”
