Flooding: Oyo Warns Against Use Of Bridges

The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo has warned residents of the state to resist the temptation of crossing bridges that over flow with flood after heavy downpour just as two? persons are still missing despite the recovery of five bodies near Dandaaru stream in Ibadan on Tuesday.

The state police command? confirmed the death of two anti robbery squad members? during last week’s flood disaster? and also confirmed that? two other persons are? still missing.

Chief Moses Adeyemo, the Deputy Governor said that it would be unwise for any right thinking person to use a bridge that overflows with flood at this period.

Meanwhile the identities of some of the victims of the flood disaster are being unfolded.

Reports said that two children of the same family, Wole Iyiola and Saka Iyiola met their untimely death when their cab was swept away as the driver attempted to cross a bridge already overtaken by flood.

A Senior journalist, Elder Akin Akinjide whose house was submerged by flood said that he was grateful to God for sparing his life and that of his family.
