The Bauchi Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) recorded?only one serious road accident during the Eid-el-Fitr holidays.
Mr Ibrahim Gaidam, the command’s Public Enlightenment Officer, announced this on Wednesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi.
Gaidam said the accident was recorded on the Azare-Pokistum road where one person lost his life and 11 others suffered injuries.
He said a commercial bus was involved in the accident about three kilometers away from Azare.
“Generally the celebration was free of serious road accidents and only minor accidents were recorded in Bauchi metropolis,” Gaidam said.
He said the command was continuing with the special operation against reckless driving, which is expected to end to Friday.
Gaidam called on motorists and motorcyclists to always obey traffic rules and regulations in order to avoid unnecessary accidents. (NAN)
