The Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi, Mr Chinedu Ogah, has said that the youths would support any candidate endorsed by Gov. Martin Elechi, as his successor.
Ogah made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abakaliki on Friday.
He said that it was only Elechi that would nominate the candidate that the party would support in the 2015 gubernatorial elections.
“The governor has revolutionalised the state infrastructure and economy, it will be in the interest of the party if he nominates who will follow his footsteps on leaving office.
“He has presently as the governor, repositioned the party, which has helped in actualising the ideals of its founders,” he said.
Ogah urged the party faithful to be conscious of the antics of some individuals, who would come to them, saying that the governor had endorsed them for the position.
“These people want to deceive party members and the people, as the governor has not nominated anybody for the position.
“As a founding father of the state, he will take his time to nominate who will succeed him to sustain the achievements of his government and predecessors.
“At the right time, we would support whoever the governor nominates, whether he is a cripple or a blind man.’’
He advised the people to continue to support Elechi’s administration to move the state forward.
Ogah said that the projects initiated by the State Government were aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of the people. (NAN)
