The National Chairman, All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Dr Obgbonnaya Onu, on Friday received the Certificate of ?Incorporation for the ?United States of America Chapter of the party in New Jersey, U.S.
The document was presented to him by the Chapter’s Protem Chairman, Chief Mike Amuzie.
This is contained in a statement signed by the National Secretary of the party, Mr Emma Eneukwu,?in Abuja.
The statement quoted Onu as expressing delight that Nigerians resident in the U.S. were interested in joining the ANPP, adding that?that ?was?based on his findings arising from his contact during the visit to some states in the U.S.
Onu called on the chapter to continue to work hard to see that ANPP became a household name among Nigerians resident in the U.S.
“ I am particularly happy to be physically present in this historic City of Newark, New Jersey, USA, to receive a copy of the Certificate of Incorporation of our great Party.
“I am confident that if you continue to work as hard as you have done, you will be able to build a very strong chapter of the party in USA.
“I also commend you for acquiring an office premises in USA for the part''? and?urged the chapter to look for those who left the party with a view to returning them to “their political home”.
Onu assured ANPP members in U.S. that the party had began talks with other opposition parties “to wrestle power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
“The new ANPP is also spearheading a shift from politics of personality to issue-based and ideas-driven politics in the country.
“ ANPP is a great Party, we are born with great expectations, we have had our problems, but by the grace of God we are on our way to recovery and growth,” he added. (NAN)
