‘My People Are Happy With Me’

Niger State governor Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu says majority of the people of the state are happy with his policies and programmes.

He said at a town hall meeting in Minna as part of the on going Good Governance Tour to Niger state led by Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, over the weekend.

Aliyu who was responding to a question about allegation of under performance by opposition parties in the state, said that no amount of intimidation from the opposition could distract his government on all his government’s popular policies and programmes for the people.

Aliyu said that the opposition parties were envious of his achievements and were trying to distract him because the builed up to 2015 showed that the political parties would not have any thing against him for relevance.

“No body will frighten us because majority are happy with what we are doing,” Aliyu claimed while saying that his administration was not for sharing money to the people .

Answering question from mails at the town hall on the? five star hotel where N500 million was already spent without work, since his first tenure, Governor Aliyu said his government was determined to deliver its promise and would make sure that the project becomes a reality before his tenure ends in 2015

Aliyu also dismissed the rumour going the round that the land cleared at the old Minna market? for the construction of Minna City Center had been allocated to former two times Military President Ibrhaim Babangida and Former Head of state, General Abdulsalami Abubakar.

He said that the rumour was? untrue and unfounded, as the land would be used for the purpose construction of the city centre for the of improving businesses in the state capital.?
