A public analyst and social commentator, Ahmadu Buba, has cautioned the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed on the planned transfer of powers and responsibilities of the Directors of Boards.
Buba, who addressed journalists in Abuja, said the minister’s move was ill-advised, counter-productive and a duplication of duties.
Various boards of bodies in the FCTA are headed by the chairmen, who the board occasionally meets to streamline the activities of the organisations while the directors oversee the running of the organisations. Juxtaposing the two offices and entrusting the chairmen with more powers will surely spell doom, he warned.
“I have the minister’s planned power transfer from reliable sources. My advice for the minister is not to use his office and politicise the good working structure that has been in use over the years.
