NDLEA Arrests 12 Drug Suspects In Gombe

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Gombe State says it arrested 12 drug suspects in some?parts of the state.

The state Commandant of the NDLEA, Mr Aliyu Adole, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gombe on Friday.

Adole?said the drugs sellers would be charged to court.

He said that the suspects were arrested in Balanga, Shongom, Dukku, Funakaye and Akko Local Government Areas of the state.? ????

He said the exhibits seized from the suspects amounted to 116.25 kilogrammes and were kept in the?exhibit room.

The commandant said officials of the agency had embarked on sensitisation tour?of some towns in Gombe South to educate people on the dangers of drug abuse.

He?said the command had earlier arrested 16 suspects,?arraigned them in court and were subsequently convicted, 13 others were13 awaiting trial.

Adole?appealed to the State Government to?fulfill its promise of providing the necessary logistics and rehabilitation centres to the agency. (NAN)
