Osaze, Moses Set For EPL Clash

Two Nigerian superstars, Osaze Odemwingie of West Brom and Victor Moses of Chelsea will put patriotism aside for the meantime and confront each other in the English Premiership for the respective clubs. This is coming as both will also meet again in the Super Eagles camp to fight for shirts in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi will have another opportunity to choose who he may bank on for goals delivery between Osaze Odemwingies and Victor Moses when the two players face each other in today’s clash between West Bromwich and Chelsea.

Keshi is currently in a dilemma over who will lead his attack during the continental soccer showpiece following the form of the two strikers for their clubs. Osaze had an issue with Keshi after the coach decided to replace him with Moses in a Nations Cup qualifier match against Rwanda. But has made himself available for selection for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in what might be his last chance of playing for Nigeria.

Moses, who joined Chelsea from Wigan during the summer transfer window, has started well in his career at the Stamford Bridge and is now a toast of many Chelsea fans across the globe. The Nigerian international made his full debut for Chelsea when he started the League Cup game against Wolves and scored his first goal after 71 minutes. He was named Man of the Match against Manchester United in the League Cup, a game Chelsea won 5–4.

The former Wigan Athletic goal machine opened his Premier League goal account for Chelsea against Swansea City which ended in a 1–1 draw and four days later, he scored his Chelsea’s important goal of his life against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League after replacing Brazilian Oscar in the 80th?? minute. All these have made analysts and experts believe the Chelsea striker should be Stephen Keshi’s first attack option for the 2013 Nations Cup.

The clash today promises to be explosive since Chelsea is in dear need of victory in order to mount pressure on leaders, Manchester United. Chelsea last Sunday surrender John Terry’s early goal to draw 1-1 with Liverpool, allowing Manchester City to go second in the Premier League after beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1.
