Corruption: Nigerian Army Seeks Collaboration With EFCC

As part of efforts to improve security in the country and curb financial crime, the Nigerian Army is seeking collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Unit, EFCC, in order to ensure that the bid to make Nigeria corruption-free becomes a successful one.

The Provost,82nd Division, Nigerian Army, Colonel L.A Benjamin made the pledge when he paid a courtesy visit to the Head of Operations, South east Zonal office of the EFCC, David Illoyanomon in his Enugu office yesterday.

According to Benjamin, his visit to the commission’s office is to assure the commission of the army’s willingness to cooperate, in any way, to ensure that the war against crime is successful. He also pointed out that the military police does not condone any form of indiscipline, whether inside or outside its barracks; “My office is willing to assist the Commission whenever it discovers that a soldier has contravened economic and financial laws”.
