We Need Attitudinal Change, Not Constitutional Amendment – Aliyu

Niger State Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu has said that the crave for constitutional amendment is not what Nigeria needs most at the moment but a total change of attitude towards working for a better society.

Aliyu, who made this comment when he played host the visiting director-general of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Abubakar Jijiwa, yesterday at Government House, Minna,? also called on Nigerians to have a positive attitude towards their leaders.

The governor said while the people were blaming leaders, it should also be noted that the followers get the kind of leaders they deserve; as such the followers also shared in the blame for the country’s decline, just as the leaders.

Aliyu blamed the foreign media for focusing on negative reports in the country while neglecting the positive and urged the VON chief executive, as the chairman of the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), to hold bilateral talks with such foreign broadcast stations to halt this trend.

Earlier, JIjiwa had revealed that the north central zonal office of VON had been inaugurated in Minna for better coverage, and that for strategic economic interest of Nigeria, the station would soon commence broadcast in Portuguese and Chinese.
