I’ll Be Governor Of All — Gov Yero

Just like his former boss, the newly sworn Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Mukhtat Ramalan Yero yesterday pledged to be a governor of all irrespective of religious and tribal differences.

The governor who described late Yakowa as his mentor, however named a newly constructed road of about 12 km after the governor as a way of immortalizing? him.

The governor who stated this at the burial of Governor Yakowa in Fadan Kagoma, area of Jema’a Local Government, said, “It is pertinent for me to declare in unequivocal terms that I will be Governor for all and sundry irrespective of religion, ethnicity or geo-political consideration.

“My constituency is Kaduna State in its entirety. Nobody will be discriminated on the basis of his faith or tribe. On the contrary, each and every citizen will be treated on his or her own merit.

“Let me in particular, assure the Christian community in the State that my Government will do everything possible to protect their rights and privileges as guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“I will complete all the projects executed by my predecessor across the State, as they were all conceited after very careful consideration and in order to keep alive his aspiration of improving the quality of live of the citizenry,” he said.

According to him, the wisdom “I tapped from my predecessor with regards to his sense of fairness, justice and equity will be fully utilised in the conduct of my official and even private businesses.

“My late boss, Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, exhibited uncommon leadership qualities. He was an embodiment of patience, simplicity, patriotism, peace, commitment to duty, thoroughness, honesty, nationalism, team player, experience in public service and a host of other sterling qualities that time and space will not permit me to mention,” he said.
