SURE-P Engages 1,150 Youths In Niger

The Subsidy Reinvestment Programme, SURE-P implementation committee in Niger State has so far recruited 1,150 youths in Niger State.

?The state Chairman, SURE-P Implementation committee Niger State, Mallam Aliyu Mamman made this known during? a courtesy call on the Emir of Minna, Alhaji (Dr)Umar Faruq Bahago in his palace over the weekend .

The Chairman said that the target all over the country was to recruit 3,000 youths?? before the commencement of the next fiscal year and therefore solicited the support of the traditional rulers.

Mamman said the benefiting groups were youths, vulnerable persons, school dropouts, and widows, adding that the 1,150 candidates so far recruited were from seven local government areas in the state.

He said the recruitment from the remaining 18 local government areas was on, in order to be able to meet the 3,000 youths targeted before the end of the year.

The Chairman disclosed that beneficiaries would be paid N10,000 monthly for a period of one year and? they will be disengaged after undergoing training and re-training on a chosen vocation.

He said graduates among the beneficiaries would receive N18, 000 monthly and? they may be employed wherever their services may be needed.

?The Emir of Minna, Alhaji (Dr) Umar Faruq Bahago in his remarks said the responsibility given to the committee was a very important one and? assured them of the support of his Emirate council.

He pledged to reach out to his people and enlighten them on the programme which he said would help to reduce unemployment.
