Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) continued on the upward trend on Wednesday as some highly capitalised firms recorded price gain.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that as a result of the gains, the market capitalisation appreciated by N148 billion to close at N10.058 trillion from the N9.910 trillion recorded on Tuesday.
Similarly, the All-Share Index, which opened at 30,983.83 points appreciated by 462.39 basis points to close at 31,446.22 points.
The appreciations in all the capital market indicators represent 1.5 per cent growth.
Nestle recorded the highest price gain of N9.78 to close at N750.01 per share.
NewGold followed with N6 to close at N2,589 per unit, while Dangote Cement grew by N5 to close at N150 per share.
Julius Berger share price appreciated by N4.25 to close at N46.84 per share, while UACN gained N2.75 to close at N50 per share.
Conversely, Oando led the losers’ chart with a loss of N1.57 to close at N14.40 per share.
7UP trailed with 50k to close at N44.50 per share, while Air Service dropped 40k to close at N5.50 per share.
Lafarge Wapco depreciated by 30k to close at N65 per share, while Diamond Bank dipped by 24k to close at N6.16 per share.
In all, investors exchanged 798.29 million shares worth N5.1 billion traded in 6,976 deals.
This is against the 554.68 million shares valued at N4.1 billion traded in 7,561 deals on Tuesday.
