?The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences (ICPC) on Saturday said it would support 40 indigent?students in the FCT.
Mr Ekpo Nta, the Chairman of the ICPC made the promise during the 2011/2012 graduation ceremony of Ladela Secondary in Abuja.
Nta said that the gesture would further boost the agenda of Ladela to support the less privilege students in the FCT.
As part of its social responsibility, the school?supported more than 60 students of the LEA Primary School, Mabushi with the provision of instructional materials.
He decried loss of values on the upcoming generation and urged?parents to guide their children to uphold the Nigerian value system.
Nta?urged parents to guide and protect their children to choose careers?that would impact the nation positively.
He frowned at the attitudes of parents in forcing their wards to choose courses their children were not interest in.
“If you are an engineer, it should not be necessary that your child must be an engineer.’’
Mr Emmanuel Aina, the Director Policy Implementation of the Secondary Education Board in the?FCT, commended the school for its support to students of the less privilege in the FCT.
Aina also commended the gesture by the ICPC Chief Executive for supporting students of the less privilege, adding that the board would continue to provide the best atmosphere for education and learning in the FCT.
One of the best graduating students who spoke to NAN said that he was happy for the overwhelming support he got from his parents.
Master Joshua Adewusi, who was the best overall student, said that he would live to remember his classmates for impacting positively on him.
Ladela Primary School, which?was established in 2004 presented 42 students with various prizes at the event. (NAN)
