CAF and Adidas have unveiled the Official Match Ball for the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations, to be known as ‘Jabulani Angola’.

As a result of the unveiling of the match ball for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, also known as Jabulani, the Angolan version has been inspired by the yellow, red and black Angolan flag. The word Jabulani means ‘to celebrate’ in isiZulu.

Angolan pride in its culture and heritage is strongly represented through this vibrant ball which is sure to be used in some inspiring football moments when the tournament runs from January 10 to 31.

A statement from CAF says: “Featuring the ground-breaking Grip’n’Grove profile, the Jabulani Angola will provide the best African players with a stable ball flight and perfect grip under all conditions.

“Comprising of only 8 thermal bonded 3-D panels, which for the first time are spherically moulded, the Jabulani Angola ball is perfectly round and even more accurate than ever before.”

Hosts Angola will take on Mali in the opening match of the 2010 Nations Cup in Luanda on January 10.
