X Marks The Spot: Pub One

Type: Lounge and Bar/Restaurant

Capacity: 100

Open: All day and all night

Pub One Bar and
Lounge is a mid-scale bar/restaurant situated in the Lekki Phase 1
estate, housed within the premises of the popular Fun Factory which is
also home to Fun Turf, a five-aside artificial turf football field, as
well as the event management arm of the Fun Factory. Now open for over
a year, Pub One boasts a very comfy lounge with double- and
three-seater couches set up throughout the single-room lounge. At the
bar, high stools and straight-back chairs are available for diners who
love to have their meal on the more conventional ‘mama’s dining table’,
while the more adventurous can sit at comparatively low tables and more
relaxing couches or short sofa stools.

Food

Pub One serves a
variety of special dishes, including the Noodle Royale, which is
noodles served with a blend of beef, fish chicken and shrimps; oke
arin, which is white rice served with a special kind of meat and
stockfish in palm oil sauce; and the secret Sisi Eko. Pub One also
serves other conventional Nigeian staples, including the jollof rice,
asun, isi ewu, different kinds of pepper soup, nkwobi and more.

Ambience and drinks

With a
state-of-the-art bar, Pub One stocks a wide range of drinks, including
liquors and highballs, lagers and stouts as well as champagnes and
different blends of cocktails. Overall, the lounge has a relaxing
ambience, with four plasma screen televisions hanging on three walls.
The last wall is glass and it provides an unobstructed downward view of
the football field. Weeknights are usually spiced with soothing low
music and occasional karaoke performances, while the weekends are
characterised with more energetic, dance-inducing music.

Although it is a relatively compact bar, Pub One is the ideal venue for a small private party or a solo night out.
