Lynxxx takes album launch to Abuja

New hip-hop
revelation, Lynxxx will continue his promotional tour to Nigeria’s
capital city, Abuja this month. According to a press release from the
PR consultant to Syndik8 Records, Lynxxx’s record label, the Dynamix
Awards nominee will be in Abuja with ally hip-hop group, Show Dem Camp
on Saturday May 14 for a launch concert of his debut album ‘This is
Lynxxx’. The release also stated that the launch will also feature
established artists from the record labels, Finesse Entertainment and
Play Records.

Speaking about the
launch concert, Lynxxx who will be performing in Abuja alongside his
partner and Syndik8’s in-house producer, Ikon for the first time,
revealed he is excited about the upcoming event.

“I can’t wait to
perform and introduce more people to my music,” Lynxxx said. “My Abuja
fans have been looking forward to this launch and I am ready to give
them the performance of a lifetime.”

Lynxxx came to the
limelight with his 2009-released debut single, ‘Change Your Parade’ and
received nominations at the 2010 Dynamix All Youth Awards and the
Nigerian Music Video Awards. His debut album, ‘This is Lynxxx’ was
officially released in December 2010 and scored a C5 rating in the X2
Xamination column.


Ufuoma Ejenobour to play legendary Benin queen

Golden Nymph and
Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo awards nominee, Ufuoma Ejenobour,
will be cast as the legendary Queen Idia in the Creative Unit
Multimedia Studios’ epic movie, ‘Okoro: The Prince’. According to
SocioActive Media, PR company to the producers of the movie, the
‘Private Storm’ and ‘My Mum I’ actor will be cast alongside Alex
Usifo and Sam Loco Efe.

“Queen Idia left
her mark on Benin history as a powerful figure who was the catalyst in
her son Esigie’s ascension to the throne of the ancient kingdom Of
Benin in 1504 AD.

“Idia was a fierce
warrior whose wisdom and supernatural powers ensured that Esigie
reigned for forty-six years as Oba. Idia was also the first Iyoba
(Queen Mother) of ancient Benin, a title conferred upon her by her son.
In typical fashion, Ufuoma Ejenobor has put her very soul into this.
This is definitely something to look forward to,” a statement from the
producers reads.

Singer Mariah Carey
on Saturday gave birth to twins, delivering a boy and a girl on the
third anniversary of her wedding to Nick Cannon, her spokeswoman said.

The babies were born shortly after 9am local time at a Los Angeles hospital, said Carey’s representative, Cindi Berger.

Berger said the
babies weighed over 5 pounds each, and the girl is 18 inches long while
the boy is 19 inches. The names of the children were not immediately
known.

Grammy winning singer, Carey and Cannon, an actor and rapper, were married on April 30, 2008.

“Babies were born on their wedding anniversary,” Berger said in a statement.

“Not even Mariah could plan that!”

Carey announced she
was pregnant in October. At the time, Cannon said the couple delayed
telling people about the pregnancy because Carey once suffered a
miscarriage.


West African Idols’ finalist returns

Liberian born
singer and 2007 West African Idols contestant, Jerrilyn Mulbah released
her first two singles since the reality television show over the
weekend. The tracks, Molejo and Mr Dj are produced by Kiss Music’s
producer, Dipo Abdulahi and are released across different online music
portals across West Africa.

Jerrilyn started singing at age six in a Nimba County church choir
after being separated from her parents and taken in by a missionary
home.
