President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday swore in the second set of ministerial nominees earlier scrutinised and cleared by the National Assembly.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja where he restated that he would deliver a comprehensive speech during the oath-taking ceremony of the last group of ministers next week.
On July 2, 14 ministers were sworn in, with 12 of them returning immediately to their duty posts.
At Friday’s ceremony, Jonathan directed the newly sworn-in ministers to report to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) on July 11 for their letters of postings to various ministries.
NAN also reports that a ministerial nominee already cleared by the National Assembly, Prof. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was absent at Friday’s ceremony.
No reason was given for her absence.
The ministers who took Oaths of Office and Oaths of Allegiance are former Finance Minister Olusegun Aganga (Lagos), Acting PDP National Chairman, Dr Haliru Mohammed (Kebbi), Prof. Ita Enang-Ewa (Akwa Ibom), Mr Patrick Abba-Moro (Benue), Mr Samuel Ortom (Benue), and Mr Bukka Tijjani (Borno).
Others are Mr Mike Onolememe (Edo), Prof. Barth Nnaji (Enugu), Prof. Idris Umar (Gombe), Prof. Viola Aduku-Onwuliri (Imo), Alhaji Bolaji Abdullahi (Kwara) and Hajia Zainab Ibrahim-Kuchi (Niger).
Also sworn in were Mr Olugbenga Ashiru (Ogun), Mrs Olusola Obada (Osun), Mrs Olajumoke Akinjide (Oyo), Dr Yerima Ingama (Yobe) and Alh. Bashir Yuguda (Zamfara).
