Conflicts: Nigeria To Aid Int’l Community Over Children Inclusion

The Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations has expressed the decision of the federal government to join forces with the international community to combat the inclusion of children in armed conflicts.

Addressing the United Security Council during the week, Nigeria’s Envoy to the United Nations, Mrs Joy Ogwu said that as a signatory to the Optional Protocol on the involvement of children in armed conflict, and an active participant in all efforts to shield young people from such violations, Nigeria would continue to work with the international community to bring perpetrators to justice.
