Team Nigeria 8th On Medals Table

For the first time in the on going games, the organisers yesterday released a medals table that has Nigeria on the 8th position with one gold, three silver and four bronze.
South Africa has taken an early lead with a total of 46 medals with 20 of them being gold. Egypt are coming second with 8 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze.

Tunisia, Algeria, Kenya and Senegal are the other countries ahead of Nigeria at the moment.
NSC’s Director-General, Dr Pat Ekeji however, said yesterday that there is nothing to worry about over the medals table as the games is only beginning to gather momentum. He noted that events where Nigeria has strength are yet to hot up.

“We hope to catch up with games like chess, athletics, table tennis and judo. There is nothing to worry over our present standing,” he said.
