Imo Indigenes Task Gov Okorocha Over Agric Revolution

Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha have been called upon to revitalise the agricultural sector with a view to creating more jobs in the state.

The Imo state indigenes resident in Niger State made the call through a statement signed by the Head of Information in the Abuja Liaison office Abuja, Mrs Ogochukwu Nwankwo. The group said this when the Chairman Orlu Development Union Minna Chief Okechukwu Obi and his delegation paid a courtesy call on the Imo State Laison Officer in Abuja, Princess Gloria Akobundu.

They also asked the governor to make it a priority by encouraging the planting of economic trees and crops for the development of the state.

Obi thanked the governor for his purposeful leadership and urged him to strengthen and promote the Igbo language and culture by making it a medium of communication during official functions.

Congratulating the Governor on his victory at the April poll Obi commended him on the appointment of tested hands to assist him in piloting the affairs of the state.

he said, “We are happy at the progress made so far by the Governor since his assumption of office, he was the only governor that slashed his security votes to fund free and qualitative education in the state we have no doubt that Okorocha will transform and move Imo state to the next level.

“We are willing to contribute our quota in the transformation of the state and we are ready whenever we are called on to assist the governor with his transformation agenda.

Responding, the Liaison Officer thanked the delegation for the visit, pointing out that the restoration mission of Okorocha was aimed at the rapid transformation of the state.
