Lagos Assembly Refutes Rumour Of Principal Officers’ Arrest

The Lagos State House of Assembly has discredited rumours that some of its principal officers have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to the press statement signed by Rotimi Adebayo, Speaker Adeyemi Ikuforiji spokesman, there is no truth in the report.

“It has come to our attention at the Lagos State House of Assembly that some fifth columnists have been spreading falsehood to the effect that the voluntary response of our principal officers of the House to clear the record with the EFCC is being mischievously termed as ‘arrest.’ In clear language, none of these officers were arrested,” Adebayo said.

According to him, the principal officers and some account staff had gone to the Abuja’s office of the anti-graft agency on Tuesday just has the Speaker had earlier honoured the invitation of the commission.????????? ?
