Muslims Offer Jumat Prayers For UN House Bomb Victims

The Minister of the federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed, last Friday led thousands of Muslim faithful in the FCT in a special Jumat session to pray for the repose of the souls of the victims of the United Nations (UN) house bomb blast victims.

The special Jumat prayer was also attended by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saád Abubakar III as well as some members of the Federal Executive Council.

After the special Jumat session, the minister admonished Muslims and the entire residents of the FCT to abhor violence and show love to one another and also called for peaceful co-existence amongst all the ethnic groups residing in Abuja, irrespective of religious or political inclinations.

Senator Mohammed noted that Abuja was home to all Nigerians and the development of the country could only be achieved if residents lived in peace and showed love for one another
In his sermon during the prayer session, the chief imam of the National Mosque, Ustaz Musa Muhammad advised Muslims to live exemplary lives worthy of emulation and stressed that Muslims ought to be good ambassadors of the religion of Islam.

He maintained that anything contrary to the teachings of the Holy Quran and practice of the Holy prophet was not acceptable and prayed for the repose of the souls of the blast victims.
