Panasonic Targets N1.6trn Net Sales In Q4

Panasonic Corporation one of the global leading electronic companies has said it was targeting net sales of about N1.6 trillion ($104.8 billion) at the end of the 2011 current year.

The Promoter, Panaserv Nigeria Limited,? an authorised service agents for Panasonic consumer electronics products in Nigeria, Mr. Suraj Rupani, who stated this at the 2011 Panasonic Convention in Lagos at the weekend, said the large chunk of the sales is expected from the emerging economies like Nigeria and India.

He noted that the company would take advantage of the large economic base and potentials of the emerging economies to drive its investment growth and development.

Speaking on the company’s preparedness to quote on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange(NSE), Rupani said it was not the immediate concern of the company, but an idea it would look into in future as the business grows.

He noted that the commissioning of the 6th Panasonic shop in Apapa Business District has increased the number of electronics outlets in the area.

Rupani said that the opening of the shop underscored Panasonic belief and abiding faith in the Nigerian consumer and the country’s future. “It is part of our resolve at market dominance and the need to be close to our customers all over the country.”

He said the need to enhance after sales service was responsible for opening the shop in the area, whilst in other major cities.

According to him, “The sales and service centre is fully staffed by skilled manpower and equipped with modern diagnostic tools for product maintenance, he went on to say that the centres were manned by qualified engineers and technicians, trained in Panosonic? centres in Malaysia and Dubai.”

? The convention unveiled the latest product line up to 2011 models of air conditioners, flat screen television sets, home theatre and music systems, digital still cameras and camcorders, home appliances, kitchen appliances and personal and beauty care products.

The exhibition also unveiled Smart Viera Infotainment Television sets. The television series encompasses 3D, LED/LCD and Plasma television sets.

Rupani noted that the wide range of internet enabled television demonstrates Panasonic commitment to providing Nigerian consumers with world class entertainment options.

“The new series of IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) models provide easy access to variety of internet services and Web entertainment including You Tube, SHOUTcast, USTREAM, WOW TV, facebook, Twitter, Picasa, Bloomberg, Weather, Accu Weather, Daily Motion among other web-based services,” he said.???
