As former Governor of Gombe State, Senator Danjuma Goje, prepares to face trial over charges of corruption,? his successor in office,? Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo, yesterday, stormed the Wadata Plaza Headquarters? of the PDP with party chieftains, in what was termed a solidarity visit.

This is just as elected officers under the PDP, will only have the opportunity for a second shot at offices under the party’s platform if their performances are satisfactory. This is the position of the acting national chairman of the party, Alh. Kawu Baraje, when he received Governor Dankwambo,? who was accompanied by the State’s party chairman, Mr Jack Gobi, minister for transport, national? and state house of assembly members, former governors and ministers and? some party stakeholders from the state

While commending the governor for his visit and performance in the State, Alh Baraje hinted that the party was putting a mechanism that would help monitor all its elected officers with a view to determining their performance viz-a-ziz their impact to the electorate, charging that the party would no longer condone mal-administration.

Alhaji Baraje said the party would soon issue assessment forms to assess? its elected public office holders and expressed? satisfaction with the PDP in Gombe State, saying it remained one of the most united.

Governor Dankwambo had told the PDP chairman that they had come to felicitate with the party’s leadership as well as show their unalloyed support to the NWC.

He pledged a harmonious working relationship between Gombe State and the PDP, stressing that the state remained one of the very few that was devoid of intra-party squabble. He advised the chairman to close the divisions within the party as it is on this basis and performance that the PDP would continue to rule indefinitely.?
