Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members, yesterday killed a reporter with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Maiduguri, Zakaria Isa.
LEADERSHIP SUNDAY learnt that the reporter was killed by the gunmen while he was sitting outside his house in BulumKutu area of Maiduguri around 8 PM.
The Joint Tasks Force (JTF) spokesman, Lt. Col. Hassan Mohammed has confirmed the incident.
Isa is the first case of a journalist killed by the dreaded sect.
The Islamic sect has literarily held Maiduguri, the Bornu State capital and some other states in the north and Abuja under siege from the time the first incident of their dastardly act was reported. ?
Isa is survived by his wife and children.
