PAN Unveils Peugeot 508 Saloon

The Managing Director of Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Plc (PAN), Alhaji Shehu Sani Dauda yesterday unveiled the latest Peugeot 508 Saloon at their Corperate Office, Mabushi, Abuja.
At the unveiling of the 508, Alhaji Shehu Sani Dauda said: “the car is Bold Expressive Design and it has dimensional proportions and styling that are direct responses to the changing trends in the large luxury saloon car market segment.
The car he said reflects the continual search for more status, quality and performance, combined with a “modernity that encompasses the vehicle’s general efficiency in terms of architecture, engines and styling”.
He added, “508 expresses the Marques vision and experience in the large touring car market.

The car is designed and built to have both elegance and precision, but without in any way sacrificing the personality and dynamism so beloved of the Peugeot Marque. Its exterior design holds the promise of exceptional interior space, convenience and comfort”.

The Head of Technical of Pan said, “The design of the 508 and its front-end is dominated by its ‘floating’ grille and angular headlamps.

The design has been influenced by the recent Peugeot concept demonstrating a new front end to match the new Lion badge introduced earlier this year.

The 508 is available with an extensive range of six powertrain units, made-up of four diesel and two petrol variants.
As the diesel heavy line-up would infer, Peugeot is focusing on a reduction in CO2 and an improvement in fuel economy.
The greenest engine in the line is a 1.6 litre e-HDi diesel with CO2 of 109 g/km for the mid-sized saloon. The unit includes Stop & Start technology to improve fuel economy over the standard 1.6-litre HDi.
Both the 407 and 607 models will be replaced by the 508 and the estate variant is expected to be the best-seller in the world, where saloons are becoming increasingly unpopular.
