Three suicide bombers on Friday, met their waterloo when their mission to bomb the headquarters of the Joint Task Force(JTF) in Maiduguri failed – the bombs detonated before they could get through the gate.
Our reporter gathered that? the bombs which were? loaded? in a black Jeep was targeted? at the? headquarters of the Joint Task Force( JTF) at? Pompomari area within Maiduguri metropolis.
The spokesman to the JTF, Lt. Col. Hassan Mohammed who confirmed this in an interview said no soldier or civilian lost their lives in the explosion but added that the gate and part of the buildings in the headquarters were affected by the blast.
Mohammed further explained that there were simultaneous explosions? in places like Bulumkutu and Nganaram Bulabulin areas of? the state capital.
He spokesman however, advised the general public to be calm and go about their normal activities, saying? the situation was under control.
