The House of Representatives, yesterday, rejected a motion that sought to condemn the recent kidnap of three expatriates from a vessel serving at the Chevron oil field at Agbami, Bayelsa State.??
The motion which was sponsored by Hon Daniel Reyenieju (PDP, Delta) also sought to mandate an ad-hoc committee of the House to investigate allegations of selective implementation of the amnesty programme with a view to finding out why some?? youths in the Niger Delta were excluded from the programme.
Moving the motion titled, “Hijack of Vessel and Kidnapping of Three Expatriates off Niger Delta Coastline”, the lawmaker noted that unidentified armed men hijacked an oil supply vessel “MV Endeavour” off the coast, serving Chevron’s Agbami Oil field, including three expatriates on board.
