FG To Combat Boko Haram With ‘Boko Halad ‘

Even though the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Chief Marshal Oluseyi Pentinrin, has said that the Defence Headquarters would not sit at a negotiating table with members of the outlawed Boko Haram sect who he described as a bunch of criminals, LEADERSHIP can reveal that government has taken steps to set up a counter sect, Boko Halad.

Investigation from particularly the North East where the sect (Boko Haram) has continued to reign, reveal that government through influential religion and political leaders are mobilizing faithful who were sympathetic to government to form the Boko Halad.

Boko Halad, it was gathered, would work in direct opposition to? Boko Haram.

“It will counter the ignorance and selfish interest of Boko Haram through reacting to issues raised by Boko Haram from time to time.

“They have swung into action and very soon you shall begin to feel their impact.? We feel since the use of arms and persuasion have not helped matters, this is the only way we can counter this sect (Boko Haram) by setting up Boko Halad,” the source added.

The chief of defence staff had during a courtesy call on the Borno State governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, at Government House, Maiduguri, yesterday called the Boko Haram sect a bunch of criminals.

The CDS had declared that criminals terrorising the state would be completely routed so that the status of the state as Home of Peace would be restored.?
