Former Minister of Defence and a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chieftain, Dr Shettima Mustafa, at the weekend vowed to bring the South West States presently under the control of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, back to the PDP if elected chairman of the party.
The two-time minister told LEADERSHIP at the Benin airport that if elected he would ensure that PDP regained control of all the States it lost to the opposition and added that “we will try to win back south west states; it is as simple as that. In 1999 the south west was with AD we took them over and now they have gone back to the A C N and we will get them back,”he boasted.
Mustafa said that the desire to contest for the Chairmanship position of his party zoned to the North East was predicated on the need to address the fundamental principles undergirding the party.
