Job Creation Critical To Economic Development – Aganga

The Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, has noted that job creation through local manufacturing of products was critical to the economic development of Nigeria.

Aganga stated this when he received in audience investors from Slovenia in Abuja.

The minister said Nigeria was focusing on local production of goods that will stimulate the economy, create jobs for its teeming youth, as well as take advantage of the huge market in the country and the sub region.

According to him, one area that Slovenia is good at, is in the area of technology and that is the area the nation can learn from them to create industries and jobs in order to meet up with the transformation agenda of the present administration.

He promised tofacilitate a meeting of Nigerian business entrepreneurs with the Slovenian business class to fast tract partnership in the manufacturing sector, as well as create avenue for relationship between the chambers of both countries.

“My job is to encourage investment into the country.? We are responsible for private sector and investment in the country. We have done that a lot and we are ready to assist and remove barriers against investment,” he said.

Earlier, the former Economic Minister of Slovenia, Darta Radic, had noted the many opportunities in Nigeria, while explaining that Slovenian Investors were willing to partner with their Nigerian counterparts to the benefit of both countries.
