Police Arrest Four Suspected Armed Robbers In Delta

Police detectives in Asaba, Delta State have arrested four suspected robbers and recovered lives cartridges from their room.

Reports said the suspects have been terrorising farmers and residents of Asaba in the recent times.

Besides, they are also said to have been terrorising Issele – Asagba Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state and had robbed many of its residents of close to N3 million.

It was gathered that the arrest of the suspects, who are said to be indigenes of the areas, was made possible by a petition by an Issele – Azagbe indigene, one Francis Obi to the police which reportedly swung into action and rounded them up their room.

One of the suspects, identified as Chukwudi, Police sources said, upon his arrest, allegedly confessed to the crime, adding that he had dispossessed many farmers of their belongings with his gang.

It was gathered that the arrested kingpin is also alleged to be member of a cult group which often? creates fear in their unsuspecting victims.

Reports further stated? that the suspects while busy with their girlfriends in one of the suspects’ room were arrested by the police. Two of them however managed to escaped.

Asaba and its environs, in the last few weeks have been under a siege of robbery attacks,especially unleashed on traders who in most cases were forced to part with their hard earned money.

Only last weekend, the police gunned down a suspected armed robber around Ogbesowe in his attempt to rob a business man.
