Group Warns Waku, Others Against Inciting Comments

The Society for Benue Professionals (SBP) in the United States has called on former Senator Joseph Waku and other elders of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to desist from making provocative media statements on the government of Benue State? and on the state governor, Mr. Gabriel Suswam.

? Reacting in a communique signed at the end of its annual general meeting in Florida on Monday, the United States-based group stated that the opposition leaders should dialogue with the state governor rather than using words that could cause trouble in the state.

The communique which was jointly signed by the chairman of the board of directors of the group, Dr. Aladi Kingsley and the national secretary, Barrister Joel Ugbah, noted that it would be in the best interest of the if leaders like Waku, former governor, Senator George Akume and others worked together with Suswam in order to enable the? governor deliver more developmental and infrastructural projects in the state.

“We implore our great leader, Senator Waku, to embrace the governor who was just given an award as the Best Performing Governor in the North Central Zone by ‘Who Is Who in Nigerian Democracy’, a United Kingdom-based organisation. “We also beg our leader to stop such statements he used on Suswam in one of his interviews with Sahara News Online in order not to bring the present administration in Benue State to disrepute.

“If a leader is performing to the expectation of the electorates, there is no reason why he should not be allowed to complete his tenure successfully,” it said.
