Sheikh Dahiru Condemns Muslim/Christian Clashes

The renowned international Islamic? Scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has condemned the recurrent religious clashes between the adherents of the two major religions in the country saying both prophet Muhammad and Jesus Christ had throughout their lifetimes preached for peace and tolerance.

Speaking to news men yesterday in his? Bauchi residence, the Islamic scholar decried the Sunday’s bombing of Churches in some parts of the country during the Christmas celebration, just as he also condemned the attack on Muslims in Jos, Plateau state during the last eid-el fitr saying the acts were uncalled for.

Sheikh Dahiru who described Islam as a religion of peace and Christianity as a religion of endurance lamented why the faithful of the two religions in the country cannot live in peace and harmony with one another.

He attributed the killing of innocent souls at? Churches on Christmas Day? to high level of insecurity in the country and the callous attitude of the government towards the protection of lives and property of the citizens.
