The South East Zonal Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA), Dr Abdullahi Bandele Onimode has expressed displeasure, over what he described as the appalling condition of youths in the country, regretting that some of them had constituted themselves into professional thugs and willing tools in the hands of politicians.
He said the youths were supposed to perform specific functions that would augment the efforts of the adult and elite in enhancing the development of their communities.
Delivering a Lecture, entitled “ Living on the Edge: Youth and the Dwindling Fortune of Education in Oworo Land,” yesterday ,at the 44th National Convention of the Oworo Students’ Union held at Apata -Oworo , in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State,? Onimode, regretted that the “politics of godfatherism is usually sustained on the oxygen of? jobless youths.”
