I’m Not Stingy, But Prudent – Okorocha

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, yesterday denied the assertions of many people in the state that he was not liberal in the distribution of the wealth and resources of the state to the people. .

Okorocha made the denial at a press conference he addressed at the state capital, Owerri. He attributed the achievements of his administration to the prudence and sacrifice he had adopted in governance and noted that the reverse had been the failures of his predecessors.

“I am not stingy; I am just trying to block leakages, to save money for the future of the state,” Okorocha said, maintaining that as a prudent businessman, he had been able to manage the resources of the state, citing example with the monthly waste disposal which cost N60 million o the state but which he had reduced to just N24 million.

The Imo governor who is presently embarking on construction of 15kilometers of roads in every community of the state also added that he intend to dualise some major roads in the state that link their neighboring states to decongest the traffic situation in the state.
