A housewife and a well known business woman in Asaba, Delta State has allegedly beaten up a police sergeant over love advances to her.
Reports said the woman identified as Nkechi (surname removed), who resides along DLA Road in Asaba where she operates a beer parlour, had complained of the policeman’s advances for a sexual relationship.
The police officer, LEADERSHIP gathered, had been a regular customer to the ‘drinking joint’ where he reportedly developed a desire for the woman.
Sources said? Nkechi? had? reported the sergeant’s advances to some of his colleagues who, it was learnt, confirmed that the officer was notorious for dating married women.
Luck ran out on him last Saturday when he bought drinks worth over N10,000 but refused to pay unless the woman agree to sleep with him. In the ensuing argument, unknown to the officer, the relations of the lady’s husband were on hand, and they beat him to pulp.
Confirming the incident, the housewife told newsmen in Asaba that the sergeant was beaten up after series of warnings to discontinue such advances were unheeded, adding that there was an instance when he offered to pay her N50,000 if she accept to sleep with him.

Efforts to speak with the officer were not successful as he was said to have been taken to a private hospital where he is receiving treatment.
