Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, Mr. David Omojola has confirmed the arrest of more than 50 suspects in connection with?? violence and looting during the protest against the removal of fuel subsidy.
Omojola told newsmen in Benin City that investigation into the violence would continue, but that commercial activities in the city had returned to normalcy.
Speaking against the backdrop of the rising wave of criminal activities in the State, during a? send-off party organized for him by the State Command of the Police Community Relations Committee(PCRC), he noted that no society world over can be said to be totally crime free.
While calling on the people of the state to be security conscious, the out-going Police boss commended the State government and the Benin Monarch for the support and encouragement accorded him throughout the period he was in the state as Police Commissioner.
