The Action Congress of Nigeria in Kogi State has concluded arrangements to drag the state commissioner of police, Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo to court, for human rights violation.
The chief strategist to Prince Abubakar Audu, Hon. Dino Melaye who disclosed this at a media briefing in Lokoja, explained that the police boss infringed on the rights of harmless women who staged peaceful protest.
He pointed out that by detaining the two women for over six days,the police commissioner has violated the laws of the land, which he ordinarily supposed to enforced.
He stressed that even after the magistrate handling the case granted the women bail, Mr. Akpoyibo allegedly prevented the prosecutor from signing the bail, describing the police boss as authoritarian and dictatorial in discharging his duties.
