The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has commenced the process of full implementation of the second batch of 29 mega projects sited across the Niger Delta region.
A break-down of the mega projects indicated that eight of such projects are sited in Akwa-Ibom State while Delta and Bayelsa States have seven and two mega projects, respectively.
Other states that benefitted from the mega projects include; Abia with two projects, Cross River and Edo with one project each while Imo and Rivers States have four mega projects each.
Speaking in Port Harcourt during a meeting between NDDC officials and contractors and consultants of the projects, the Managing Director of the commission, Dr. Christian Oboh said the 29 mega projects were outside the 53 already lined up for completion by August 2012.
