Commission Warns Staff Against Engagement In 2 Jobs

Chief Azubuike Nmerukini, the Chairman, Rivers State Local Government Service Commission, has warned employees of local government councils against securing two different pensionable appointments.

He said the illegal practice of securing two pensionable appointments in different organisations was largely responsible for the absenteeism experienced in the unified local government service.

Nmerukini said the practice was militating against productivity in the service.

He advised such employees to work for one organisation and commit themselves to greater productivity.

He said it was morally wrong for an employee to be engaged in two different jobs, while others were on daily basis roaming the streets in search of jobs.
