Government of Akwa Ibom State has been advised not to patronise foreign construction companies alone but also to extend such cooperation to indigenous contractors as dependable players in the business.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen, yesterday, in Uyo by the Association of Ibom Indigenous Contractors and signed by its chairman, Lawrence Bassey and national secretary, Victor Mathew, respectively.
According to the body, splitting such a major project like building of the stadium among other credible players in the nation’s construction sector, indigenous contractors would have a piece of the pie through sub-contracts.
